Qualifying Conditions

Texas initially opened the Compassionate Use Program to Texas residents with intractable epilepsy in 2015. In the last 3 sessions, Texas has expanded the list of conditions to include Autism, MS, ALS, Pain, PTSD, TBI and all forms of cancer including non-terminal. The latest updates taking effect September 1, 2025. 

Approved conditions include:

• ALS
• Alzheimer's
• Autism
• Cancer
• Epilepsy and other seizure disorders
• Hospice or Palliative Care needs
• Inflammatory Bowl Disease (e.g., Chron's ulcerative colitis)
• Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
• Multiple Sclerosis
• Neuropathy (all four types still qualify)
• Parkinson's
• Persistent Pain (intermittent or constant pain lasting >90 days)
• PTSD
• Traumatic Brain Injuries, including concussions
• Over 100+ other neurological conditions
